Sail Through Life with Turtle's Spring Summer Collection '13

11 April ’13: Turtle recently launched their Spring Summer Collection ‘13 with the theme ‘Sail Through Life’. Designed to make men look uber-cool even under the scorching sun, the Spring Summer collection this year is all about adventure and travel, trying out new things, expecting the unexpected.  Be it colour, cut or variety the collection is sure to spoil you with choices.

Keeping in mind the changing trends in fashion and the changing tastes of today’s men, Turtle this year has come up with three different ranges under the banner of Spring Summer Collection’13. The ‘Tailored & Tailors Mark’ (formals), ‘Sports Club’ (relaxed/casuals) and ‘Soul’ (party wear) are the three assortments introduced this year.

Tailored & Tailors Mark collection comprises of a range of solid, stripes and check shirts in bases like 100% cotton, linen cottons and pure linen, the highlight being the engineered patterned shirt. And the ultra slim fit trousers, non-washed, front-creased in terry-rayon, linens and linen blends, create a sharp lean look. Unexpected levels of colors have been explored in Spring Summer '13. There is a wide range of palette which includes milky pastels, classic blues and lavenders, warm neutrals juxtaposed with bright citrus hues, crimsons, burgundy and violets. Minimalist accessories in tans, browns and blacks completes the tailored range.

The Sports Club (casuals range) is all about combining fashion with comfort. The major trend driver for this collection has been the red, blue and white jersey prints and patches of National Basketball Association (NBA). The chic and stylish London street fashion and military olives, khakis, beige, tans and peppermint tones have dominated the whole range. The colour scheme for Turtle Sport Club is as varied as coral, peach, aqua, lime, crimson, mint, leaf green and the neutrals like beige, whites, blacks, and grays. Along with the regular cotton shirts, the collection also features Amslers, slubs, mélanges, and linen cotton. In cotton bottoms, the over-dyed pieces are ruling the range.

With the recent launch of its KHADI collection (under the Sports Club), Turtle has revived the fabric with an ‘Ecological Weave’, that has strong patriotic and emotional connect with India. This Limited Edition Khadi collection is stylish, fashionable, comfortable and wearable on a daily basis. In this trendy collection, which has smart casuals, checks, stripes and solids dominate the design basket in plains and oxfords, which is predominantly earthy with hints of bright tints and tones of blues and greens. Neutral shades also find a place in the collection.  The styling is trendy, with roll up sleeves, and much in vogue kurta styling.

With this innovative initiative, Turtle will also benefit the weavers and their families by giving them consistent employment and improving their quality of life.

This premium collection comprising of shirts and jackets will be available in select stores across India. The price range of the collection starts at Rs Rs.2195 onwards for shirts and Rs.5995 onwards for jackets.
