Speaking at the event, Shreya Krishnan said, "I commend Gleneagles Global Hospitals on taking this initiative to engage children in such a creative manner in order help them develop a sense of the dangers of lung cancer and its associated areas of concern. It was overwhelming to watch the children participate with such enthusiasm and vigour, and their mood was infectious. Lung cancer is a dangerous condition that plagues the Indian community, and it is very important for us as a community to battle this ailment and eliminate it from our society."
The hospital provided the children with drawing sheets for the competition. Gleneagles Global Hospitals had also made and released videos relating to these topics during Respicon 2017, the annual conference held by the Indian Academy of Paediatrics National Respiratory Chapter.
Mr Thomas Mathew, COO, Gleneagles Global Hospitals, Bengaluru said, "Children are the future of the country and the world, and it is important that we raise them with a conscientious notion of the world around them. Lung cancer is one of the most common cancers to affect the Indian population, and we need to raise awareness around it in order to move forward in managing this epidemic. Giving children an outlet to express their creativity while also educating them helps them understand and absorb the gravity of the situation and at the same time allows them to have an enjoyable Children's Day."About Gleneagles Global Hospitals, a Parkway Pantai Enterprise
